Second Mile Righteousness
Poor in spirit: The first mile is marked by "I can do this". The second mile is marked by "God you have to do this because I can't."
Mourning: The first mile is defined as: getting caught hurts, so I have to be good at hiding things. he second mile is defined as: My sin hurts and I want to change it.
Meekness: The first mile is marked by me forcing my doctrine, will, ideas on others. The second mile is marked by 'Not my will, but Your will be done.'
Hunger and thirst for righteousness: The first mile is marked by a cycle of confession and rebellion. The second mile is marked by a broken life that gives God access to change everything.
Merciful: The first mile is marked by how he loves me. The second mile is marked by my life showing God's love to others
Pure in heart: The first mile is marked by believing what is seen. The second mile is marked by believing what isn't seen.
Peacemakers: The first mile is marked by: my righteousness is my business. The second mile is marked by: I want to live out my righteousness loud for the rest of the world.
Persecuted: The first mile is focused on the now. The second mile is focused on eternity.
